If you’re overcoming addiction, know you’re not alone—God is with you every step of the way. Recovery is a new journey, taken one day at a time, and I’m here to support individuals and families. Explore the resources on this website, and through prayer, scripture, and fellowship, find the strength to face challenges and the freedom from addictions.
Dear new Friend,
If you are reading this, it means you are on a journey to reclaim your life, and I want to encourage you in this brave and transformative process. I have this tab on my website set for you with some links to help you.
Firstly, I want to remind you that you are not alone. The journey out of addiction can feel overwhelming at times, but there is a loving God who walks with you every step of the way. In Isaiah 41:10, God reassures us, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Lean on this promise during your struggles.
Every step you take toward healing is a testament to your strength and resilience. The path may be challenging, but remember that every challenge you overcome is an opportunity to grow stronger in faith and spirit. Surround yourself with supportive people who uplift you and encourage your progress. Fellowship is a powerful tool; when we share our burdens, they become lighter.
As you navigate this journey, I encourage you to pray, reflect, and seek guidance through scripture. The wisdom found in the Bible can provide comfort and direction. Philippians 4:13 reminds us that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Trust that with God’s help, you can overcome the grip of addiction and build a life filled with joy and purpose.
Celebrate your victories, no matter how small they may seem. Each day you choose recovery is a day of victory. And when you stumble, remember that God’s grace is greater than any setback. Let His love lift you back up, and keep moving forward.
You have a bright future ahead of you. Embrace the new opportunities, the renewed relationships, and the joy that God is preparing for you. Continue to put one foot in front of the other, and trust in the journey God has laid out for you.
With love and encouragement, Brother John Elving

Dear Friends and Family.
I write with a heart of compassion for families devastated by addiction. When my brother Ben tragically overdosed, Moms Stop the Harm (MSTH) offered me support and honored his memory by sharing his story.
Their work provides resources, advocacy, and a voice for grieving families.
While I dont agree with all MSTH policies, I deeply value their mission to bring healing and hope to hurting families. Jesus calls us to shine His light (Matthew 5:16), and supporting such efforts reflects His love for the brokenhearted.
Let us pray for MSTH’s work, seek God’s guidance for their leaders, and extend Christ’s love to those impacted by addiction.
In His grace,
Brother John Elving
